You may have noticed the new 20mph signs being installed in Chipping Norton over the past few weeks. Oxfordshire County Council have confirmed that the new speed limit is now active.
The Chair of the Traffic Advisory Sub-Committee Councillor Mark Walker adds “Chipping Norton is now officially a 20mph zone! Like many communities across Oxfordshire we believe a 20mph default will lead to: safer streets – reducing chance of serious injury; healthier streets – less particulates and noxious emissions; living streets – encouraging people to walk or cycle. We look forward to spreading the message throughout our community to make Chipping Norton a nicer place to live”
