Worcester Road Cemetery
The Town Council owns, manages and maintains the Worcester Road Cemetery. The oldest headstones date back to 1882 in this beautiful and historic site. As part of it’s commitment to the environment and biodiversity the Council ask the maintenance contactors to promote wild spaces where appropriate.
This cemetery can accommodate traditional burials. There is also an area designated for cremation memorials, a non-consecrated section, and a section dedicated for Muslim burials. There are benches and seats providing a serene and picturesque area for quiet contemplation.
General access to pedestrians and vehicle parking is available at all times.
Our Cemetery Regulations and burial fees can be found below.

Closed Churchyard
The Council also maintains the closed church yard at St. Mary the Virgin Church, Church Street, Chipping Norton.
Current projects:
- The Town Council organises a cemetery clean up day, usually in the autumn and spring. This will usually be announced on our social media pages and is a great way to get involved with the local community, as well as spend a little time outdoors.
- The Town Council is also currently undertaking a health and safety inspection of the memorials and headstones in the Worcester Road Cemetery and the closed churchyard at St Mary the Virgin Church (most recently undertaken March 2024).
