Chipping Norton Town Council is thrilled to announce the launch of their new Community Awards, a revitalised initiative aimed at recognising and celebrating the individuals and organisations that make our town a thriving, connected, and supportive community.
We welcome your nominations for the all-new categories of awards in 2024, and hope that you take pleasure in celebrating the people and organisations doing great work in Chipping Norton.
For many years, the focus of our local awards has been primarily on sporting achievements, however, the all-new Community Awards will honour contributions in a broader array of categories, ensuring that the hard work and dedication of our people are acknowledged and celebrated.
Categories of Awards
The Community Awards will feature the following categories to recognize diverse forms of community contribution:
- Mayor’s Civic Award: Recognizes an individual’s outstanding service and contributions to the community
- Young Person of the Year: Honors a young individual under the age of 21 for exceptional achievements or contributions to society.
- The Beacham Award for Sporting Achievement: Celebrates significant accomplishments and excellence in sports.
- Organization/Group of the Year: Acknowledges an organization or group’s remarkable impact and dedication to community service.
We are also delighted that the William Fowler Allotments Awards will be presented at the ceremony, though the process for these will be managed separately by the William Fowler Allotments Trust.
