Joint statement on an inclusive Chipping Norton

We are proud that Chipping Norton is a town that welcomes, supports and includes everyone who has chosen to visit or make their home here. This includes refugees, asylum seekers and those with non-British heritage.

Whilst we are heartened to see that Chipping Norton has not experienced the deeply upsetting racist violence and disorder that have blighted other parts of the country, we are, like most modern British communities, a town that is home to people of many backgrounds, races and religions. As organisations that work in support of the town and its residents, we believe that there is no place in our community for hate or intimidation.

We stand ready to reach out to anyone who feels marginalised, threatened or left out, and to ensure Chippy remains a town defined by love and mutual support.
